June
Wow! My last post was at the beginning of June, and now it's nearly the end !!!! Unbelievable!!!
Lot's has been going on this month. Just had two birthdays. My youngest was 17 on the 21st June and my eldest was 36 today, the 22nd June :-)
Hubby and I have a new camera. A step or two up from the small digital ones. It has a 30mm zoom lens. We're pleased with them. The main reason for buying a new one each is due to an interest in wild life. Hubby is enjoying looking for insects and butterflies. I quite enjoy that too, but must admit I prefer taking photo's of more stationary objects like landscapes, buildings and people :-) I haven't quite mastered getting a clear picture all the time, especially when it's an insect, on the full zoom. I am getting better with stationary objects though. It's amazing how heavy the camera is in comparison to my little pocket one lol.
The good thing about the camera, is, it's getting hubby and I out walking, and not sitting keeping the settee and telly company :-) We've gone out most nights/weekends since acquiring the cameras, which is great, especially as we're being told to exercise more.
On the resourceful side it's been swings and roundabouts. I've saved some food stuff from being relegated to the bin, but not all was successfully saved, and some sadly got thrown :-( Last week though, we lived off the left over barbecue I did on Sunday. Just added extra choices and salad to what was left. Almost all of it went, which was a relief as I'd over done the cooking as usual :-)
Not a food resourcefulness, but resourceful all the same was the mending of my printer. I managed to get it jammed up, and in the process of unjamming it a part fell out, which looked like it wouldn't go back in. My wonderful hubby fixed it though, which has made me a very happy bunny :-)

Frustrating
I spent a whole afternoon on the new little matinee jacket I'm making. It's an easy pattern, lacy chevron. Not difficult at all, and I should have got a good chunk of the 'skirt' bit done, except, due to doing some Sunday night while feeling tired, I'd picked up an extra stitch somewhere, and I'd done a few rows before I'd realised. Being a lacy pattern, I couldn't just knit two together and carry on, as I couldn't guarantee the lace pattern would stay correct, so had to unpick a load back to where I had all the correct stitches which wasn't fun, seeing it was 130 stitches :-( Still on the bright side, I've caught back up to where I was before I had to unpick, so that's good. Disappointed though I didn't get as much done as I wanted.
Sunday
After our walk into town Sunday morning went to friends for a bring and share lunch. Lovely to hang out and chill with each other. After that, we went on a lovely walk :-) Here's some pictures from that walk.
Catch up
Last week seemed to disappear as quickly as it arrived !! and now it's June !!!! We're half way through 2014. Unbelievable!!!!!
Tuesday I picked up one of my daughter's so she could come to the dentist with her sister and myself. We then went to have some lunch, and shopping :-) Wednesday I had my arty crafty group. Thursday I met up with mum in a local town. We had coffee, and then lunch together as well as doing some light shopping. She spoils me, and bought me some books, which was nice. I had a nice reading time over the weekend. Now, my reading is not normal. I very rarely read a book cover to cover. I'll read a few chapters, take a look at what's happening in the middle of the book, then skip to the end to see how it ends. If it holds my interest after that, I may read the whole thing. So I can get through an enormous amount books in a very short amount of time :-) I have to admit it's a lot harder to do that with the Kindle, so I tend to read more of a book on there. It's very painstaking to skip large amounts of pages and then get back to where I originally was. With an actual book, I can keep my finger in the page where I was while I take a look at the rest of the book :-) I do love my Kindle though, and seem a lot happier reading a whole book on that :-)
Sunday, again hubby and myself toddled off down town. Not to shop as we did that Saturday. As we enjoyed our previous Sunday's trip and the opportunities to chat we wanted to do it again, so we headed towards the bistro :-) On the way, we stopped to look at a moor hen with her chick on the pond we pass on the way, when a friend walked by, so we chatted about the ducks and nature. After that, we continued onwards to the bistro another man stopped to chat and wanted to talk about some of his adventures in life :-)
